Marketing program tracking
Different people have different philosophies on organization. Some people like things to be nice and orderly with everything in its proper place. These are the people that know the color of their desk, utilize filing cabinets for something other than storing snacks and understand the Dewey Decimal System. The other end of the spectrum are the people who take notes on post-its, know everything they need is in a certain pile (of which there are probably many) and get easily distracted by shiny objects.
At ResponsePoint, we work with people from across this spectrum and have come across numerous tools for keeping everyone on track. The one constant that we find is that organizations are constantly on the lookout for a tool that is both easy to use, and still able to provide a quick snapshot of a project status.
Recently, I’ve come across a nice tool that combines the “To Do Lists” with Microsoft Project to manage budgeting, due dates and display a simple Gantt chart timeline. Built in Excel, it’s easier to use than Project, but still gives managers the opportunity to quickly interpret project results and progress over time. I’ve posted a copy of the spreadsheet with permission below.

This certainly isn’t rocket science, but if you’re looking for a tool to manage a project over time, this is might be pretty handy.
On the other hand, if you’re like me, the best solution is to surround yourself with people who are detailed oriented professionals. That’s what I’m proud to say we have here at ResponsePoint helping our clients everyday.
